Ability 1st, Center for Independent Living

Ability1st, the Center for Independent Living of North Florida, is a community-based non profit organization that provides services to persons with varying disabilities. Ability1st serves Leon, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Gadsden, and Wakulla counties. Ability1st is part of a nation-wide network, founded by Ed Roberts and other disability advocates in the 70’s. Robert’s spearheaded the Independent Living Movement based on independence, integration, and removal of architectural & attitudinal barriers for all.

Agency for Persons with Disabilities – Northeast Regional Office, Field Office 4

The APD works in partnership with local communities and private providers to assist people who have developmental disabilities and their families. APD also provides assistance in identifying the needs of people with developmental disabilities for supports and services.

The mission of programs sponsored and carried out by the ARC Madison-Jefferson Inc. Personnel Development Services is to assist persons with disabilities to live and work within their communities consistent with their interests, dignity and self-respect.

Boys Town of North Florida

Boys Town helps to​ give at-risk children and families the love, support and education they need to succeed.

Capital City Music Therapy

Provides music therapy services, adapted lessons, and early learning music classes to the Big Bend.

Capital Regional Behavioral Health Center – Outpatient Services

The services offered include therapeutic expertise and positive social interaction in a safe environment. These services are offered to adults 18 or older with a primary psychiatric disorder and to women 18 or older who are pregnant or within the first year of postpartum.

Children’s Medical Services

Children’s Medical Services is a collection of special programs for eligible children with special needs. We have a variety of services for expecting moms, newborn babies, infants and toddlers, school-aged children, adolescents and young adults. All of our services are provided by highly qualified physicians, nurses, social workers and other health care providers around the state. Through our family-centered programs, we make sure your child gets the care he or she needs.
